Livi Nemezműhelye - Introduction

My name is Lívia Moldován, and I am an entrepreneur based in Budapest and a certified Folk Craft Feltmaker.

Before discovering feltmaking, I spent many years designing and producing women's leather handbags as a leather industry engineer. Then I encountered the wonderful world of felt, whose incredible versatility and endless creative possibilities immediately captivated me and continue to inspire me to this day. I am fascinated by how easily felt can be shaped and by the limitless opportunities it offers for creativity. One of its greatest advantages is that mistakes can be corrected. With leather, however, there is no room for error—even a single misplaced stitch can permanently ruin an entire piece.

My first encounter with felt was truly life-changing. I received a felt sauna hat as a gift, and that experience set me on this path. I attended courses and workshops led by renowned Hungarian felt artists, and my journey continues even today. Eventually, I completed the official feltmaking training program at the Hungarian Heritage House and earned my certificate as a Folk Craft Feltmaker.

I am grateful to be part of this unique world and to have the opportunity to create objects that not only reflect the work of my hands but are also practical and bring joy to the people who use and wear them.

What I love most is the process of feltmaking itself. Creating with felt is deeply relaxing and mentally refreshing, and the satisfaction of seeing the finished piece only makes the experience even more rewarding.
